Middle Airports Corporation (MAC) was established pursuant to the decision No. 113/1988/ QD - TTg by The Prime Minister as a government enterprise operating publicly, providing aeronautical and non-aeronautical services. The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam authorized the MAC to perform some government management functions on the civil aviation operations at the airports in the Central Vietnam.

Middle Airports Corporation consists of 7 airports, among which are DaNang International Airport and other 6 domestic airports including Phu Bai Airport (Hue), Cam Ranh Airport (Khanh Hoa), Pleiku Airport (Gia Lai), Phu Cat Airport (Binh Dinh), Tuy Hoa Airport (Phu Yen) and Chu Lai Airport (Quang Nam). With a widespread air route network from central coastal provinces to the Highland, we offer dozens of flights daily at our airports to remote regions and distant countries. This spurs the economic growth in the local areas and brings about direct and indirect economic gains.

Our airports are very crucial not only in transporting passengers and cargos but also in creating favorable conditions for the process of regional industrialization, capital raising and technology transfer. The development of the airports plays an important role in attracting foreign investments in the Central part of Vietnam. We estimate, for every million passengers passing through the airports, a thousand new jobs will be created. This figure is very important to the developing regions such as Central Vietnam.

Our growth is reflected in the increase in the volume of passengers and cargos at the airports every year. We, therefore, keep modernizing and upgrading the technical equipments and the infrastructures to better serve the flights and passengers. DaNang International Airport met the requirements to serve jumbo aircrafts in any weather conditions. PhuBai Airport is about to finish the installation of a runway lighting system and an instrument landing system (ISL) with apron system which can serve mid-sized aircrafts. Other airports are upgrading their terminals to better serve and meet a rapid increase demand of our passengers.

Towards the new millennium, MAC will build new infrastructure systems and new modern terminals that meet the international standards. MACwill remain a gateway directly connecting to the world in its integration process.
